Anderson Dean Park Board
The Anderson Dean Park Board oversees the daily maintenance and supervision of Anderson Dean Park and the daily administration of all business regarding the park and make regular reports to the legislative bodies of the Mercer County Fiscal Court, the City of Harrodsburg and the Harrodsburg/Mercer County Tourist Commission.

Tourist Commission
The Harrodsburg/Mercer County Tourist Commission is the official destination marketing organization for Harrodsburg and Mercer County.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The Mercer County Joint Planning and Zoning Commission was created on behalf of the citizens for the purpose of assisting in the planned growth of the county. In addition, land use controls were implemented for the purpose of protecting public health, safety, comfort, and general welfare.

Board of Adjustments and Appeals
The Mercer County Joint Board of Adjustments & Appeals is responsible for hearing requests on certain variances from the Zoning Ordinances of Mercer County and Harrodsburg. They also hear requests for Conditional Use Permits in addition to hearing appeals on decisions of the Zoning Administrative Official (Executive Director).

Harrodsburg Mercer County Industrial Development Authority (HMCIDA)
The mission of the Industrial Development Authority encompasses several large tasks such as the development and procurement of industry into our industrial parks and the pursuit of commercial ventures to provide for economic development within Harrodsburg and Mercer County.

Ethics Board
The Ethics Board was created by Ordinance in a joint agreement with Harrodsburg, Burgin and Mercer County. The Boards purpose is to provide a method of assuring that standards of ethical conduct and financial disclosure requirements for officers and employees of the Legislative Bodies shall be clearly established, uniform in their application, and enforceable, and to provide the officers and employees of the Legislative Bodies with advice and information concerning potential conflicts of interest which might arise in the conduct of their public duties.

Tree Board
The Harrodsburg Tree Board’s mission is to plant, promote, and protect trees on public property, which serve the public interest for a multitude of purposes including public health, urban wildlife, aesthetics, urban heat reduction and enjoyment.

Harrodsburg Architectural Preservation Commission (HAPC)
The Harrodsburg Architectural Preservation Commission, was created in 2024, and is responsible for regulating exterior alterations that are proposed for landmarks and designated properties (properties within the district.) The South Mainstreet Historic District is the current Historic District Overlay and includes all properties fronting South Mainstreet, beginning at Lexington Street, proceeding south to the intersection of Mooreland Avenue and Beaumont Avenue, and specifically including the property known as the Opera House.
